I think the author wrote it as a play because he wanted it to be fun. The lesson is teamwork works.

The author wrote this story like a play because if he did it like a story it would get out of shape.And it would be hard to put the story together if it was like a story.The lesson of the story is working together to do one thing.

I think the lesson is to be a team and to never give up because they all thaught the sky was to low so all the chefs wanted to push the sky so they all did it together and they never give up.
