In the story the best clue of where the setting is was when they said is when they said there grampa travled to Califoriana.

I think Its In California because It looks sunny and I think It said It.The grandfather went from Mexico and went to California.Francisco told the guy that his grandfather was a good gardener but he Is not.

the main clue to tell the setting is you can see they are somewhere that gardeners go to do it. so im gussing californa because in the story they say its realy hot there so thats why i think it is californa.

The best clue that the setting of the story is in a real place is that the L.A Lakers are a real basketball team I think,also the city that they live in is Las Angelas.
