He said it was a choice to spend money. He said that beacause you should spend money wisly.

I think that the auther wrote this story to show us that we can put money in the bank and get interest or we can spend our money.

To learn about money because if you learn how to count the money then if you go to the next grade the teacher will told everybody to count money you count money and you will be smart.
